United Communities and Solon South West are continuing to explore options around a possible merger, which would create an ambitious new association operating across Bristol and surrounding areas.
On 30 January, both Boards and Executive Teams came together for the first time. They looked at how a new organisation could combine the best of both associations to provide even better services for our customers and new opportunities for our staff. These are the key objectives behind us potentially joining forces.
There were lots of areas of common ground identified and discussed. These included a desire to do the very best for our residents, provide opportunities for staff and remain part of the fabric of the communities in which we’re based.
The joint workshop was a positive step forward for all of us. We will consider the feedback raised and engage staff in both organisations over the coming weeks.
We look forward to meeting again in March, and sharing our exciting ideas soon after.
