Posted on: 22 January

Enter our storytelling competition to be in with the chance to win one of four shopping vouchers. £30 for first prize and then four £10 runner up prizes.

27th January – 3rd February marks the annual National Storytelling Week. This event celebrates the power of sharing stories and gives us a chance to get creative! Stories are a powerful way of expressing ourselves and listening to each other.

This year, we are asking you to share your stories with us. We would love to hear your stories on the theme of ‘Journey’. You might want to tell about a physical journey, an emotional journey, an educational journey or even a spiritual journey. Anything that gets you thinking about journey – whether that’s friendship and family, movement and travel, or your culture and heritage. It could be a journey we’ve been on together as a country, or a local community, a journey you make regularly and how this makes you feel, a positive change you’ve made in your life or something new you’ve learned that has opened doors for you.

You can submit your story in a number of ways: as a short story (max. 500 words), a poem, a film or even record some spoken word if you’re feeling really creative! It can be written about yourself or something completely fictional.

Deadline January 31st 2018

Email Aletia Shaw with your entry or any questions you might have.
