Value for Money
What is Value for Money? How does United Communities deliver Value for Money?
We think our mission statement ‘more than just a roof’ sums it up pretty well. We are aiming to make the best use of our resources – staff, homes and the money we collect from rents – so that we can keep investing in the additional services that make the most difference to all our stakeholders (who include our customers, taxpayers and the banks who lend us money). These ‘extras’, which include our Tenancy Support and Communities teams and our long term development fund for staff, are the things that help us to deliver more than just a roof.
Our ‘More Than’ project is a great example of our commitment to our customers, showing that we go the extra mile to help them not only achieve a home, but to live a full and active life as part of their local area. Our belief is that, by doing so, our customers can put more back into the local economy by finding work and spending their wages, which in turn helps to reduce health needs and benefit dependency, and develops resilience in our communities.
We still have a lot of work to do in 2016 to develop and embed our VfM approach and would welcome your input – if you have any comments please do get in touch with our Finance Director Anna Klimczak.
